Assess the coat before buying

Tight mats, pain, or irritated skin call for a professional groomer or veterinary assessment. Get that assessment before buying either HEAPETS kit. The AKC’s home grooming guidance recommends training before clipping and warns against cutting out mats yourself.

For an owner already trained for an agreed maintenance routine, the P326 adds a smaller paw trimmer with a nail-grinding attachment. The P327Gold is the simpler main-clipper option. Neither listing establishes that the tool can safely remove every mat, and we have not tested them on dogs.

What the two HEAPETS kits include

Buying consideration P326 Black-white P327Gold
Main reason to consider it Main clipper plus smaller trimmer and grinder Main clipper without a separate paw-trimmer unit
Listed cutting head Stainless fixed blade and ceramic moving blade Ceramic blade
Length accessories Six guards from 3 to 18 mm Six guards from 3 to 18 mm
Power planning Rechargeable; seller bullets give no runtime Seller claims 180 minutes after a three-hour charge

Both sellers warn that long, thick hair needs shortening first or the clippers may jam. Have a trained groomer decide how to prepare that coat. The warning remains relevant even when another bullet promises smooth cutting through thick hair.

The P326 review covers the additional grooming tools. The P327Gold review covers the clipper’s battery and cleaning claims. Those differences help with a maintenance purchase; they do not establish a winner for tight matting.

Busybaker’s July 23, 2026 review of the P326 Black-white kit praises the accessories and cord-free handling, and reports completing a haircut on one charge. The buyer also reports success on thick, matted hair. Their account does not document the skin condition, mat severity, or clipping training, so it cannot tell another owner whether the task is safe.

For the P327 Gold variant, ChiJenYogini’s August 4, 2026 review praises the quiet operation and handling. The same five-star review describes pulling during work on a matted cavapoo coat.

Amazon marked both reviews as verified purchases for the Black-white P326 and Gold P327 variants. These selected buyer accounts cannot establish how often pulling or jamming occurs across customers. Their results have not been independently tested.

Blade and power choices need a grooming plan

Six guard sizes give you accessory choices. Ask your groomer which blade and attachment combination fits the task they have taught you. The numbers on the guards cannot establish that an unfamiliar coat is safe to clip, and a removable head does not establish compatibility with other brands’ blades.

The P327’s stated runtime can help with charging plans, but it says nothing about how the clipper will handle a specific mat. A successful P326 haircut in a customer review also cannot supply the missing seller runtime. Leave time to charge, and check the manual before assuming either tool can operate while plugged in.

If a trained handler needs a different blade system or continuous mains power, the Andis, Wahl, and Oster guides explain other equipment choices. Discuss the exact model and included blade with the groomer.

Avoid paying for tools you will leave in the box

The P326’s extra trimmer and grinder make sense if you have learned those tasks and need both tools. An owner who already has suitable equipment may prefer to investigate the P327. Check replacement heads and guard availability before treating either package as a lasting setup.

Skip the purchase for now if you are trying to avoid an appointment for a painful or tightly matted coat. A kit’s price cannot tell you whether the dog needs professional care. Training and suitable replacements also belong in the ownership budget.

Questions before ordering

Question Buying answer
Does a positive matting review prove this will work on my dog? The review describes one buyer’s experience. It leaves important coat and skin details unknown. Have a professional assess your dog’s mats before choosing a tool.
Will a longer guard make mat removal safe? Guard length alone cannot establish safety. Ask the trained groomer which tools fit the assessed coat and the tasks you have learned.
Which kit should I compare for routine maintenance? Compare the P326 if you need its smaller trimmer and grinder. Investigate the P327Gold if the main clipper is your intended purchase. Both retain the seller’s long, thick coat warning.

Before ordering, confirm Black-white ASIN B0DDBY1X2M or Gold ASIN B0DLBB3VRB, the contents of that package, and the blade setup your groomer recommended.
